Mosiah 9:3

I think I have mentioned this before but I am reading the Book of Mormon using a study guide written by a mom for her son.
As embarrassed as I am to say this, but I started reading almost a year ago and am not finished.
As I was reading today, a verse stuck out to me of perhaps a reason why. Yes I know there are no excuses as to why I haven't been doing what I should be doing but with that being said...

Mosiah 9:3 "And yet, I being over-zealous to inherit the land of our fathers, collected as many as were desirous to go up to possess the land, and started again on our journey into the wilderness to go up to the land; but we were smitten with famine and sore afflictions; for WE WERE SLOW TO REMEMBER THE LORD OUR GOD." (emphasis added)

What am I being over-zealous about that I go in spurts with reading the Book of Mormon?
I think there are many of us who get caught up in (good) things (i.e. our callings, day to day activities, our kids, etc) but I think we get so caught up in those (good) things that we are slow to remember our God who has provided us with so many blessings.
We forget to go back the basics: scripture reading, prayer, etc. I know I go back and forth with being so good about reading my scriptures and I love my life when I do, but then I get "too busy" to read this day or the next.
It ends here for me.
I just love watching this little man of mine walk around! It doesn't get old.
I put his hair in a mohawk one day and I thought I had a future model on my hands.
This was as St Patty's as we got. A green shirt and in the car "What Does the Fox Say?" came on the radio.

Smiling away with 3 new teeth coming in. Waiting for 2 to pop through...

GoObEr

I love my little goober!

Although Chewy has been frustrating lately, I still do love him.
I went in to the kitchen briefly. Came back out to the living room to a missing child.
After a minute of searching this is where I found him.
We have a walker! It never gets old watching him walk around. It's so fun!
It is now his preferred mode of transportation.

MaUi 2014

We headed to Maui, Hawaii for a Stewart family get-away.
My parents generously provided us with a (kidless) trip to Hawaii.
I missed my little man so much, but we had a great time!
We stayed in condos and the beach was literally down the street - less than 5 minutes to get there.

On our way.
I don't know who the creepers sitting behind us are...oh wait. Yes I do.
 We have arrived!

Dinner at Fred's. A delicious Mexican restaurant down the road from where we stayed.
 Much giggling while boogie boarding.
We stopped almost once a day at Ululani's for shave ice. Perfect Hawaiian treat.

Out to dinner. Don't my parents make a stunning couple? They do.

 View from our condo.

Getting ready to leave for a whale watching tour.

 Let the whale watching commence!

We decided to not be tourists for a day and take the bus to Paia. It was an adventure.

HUGE waves at the beach. We traveled to a neighboring beach and had quite the show (it was a local clothing optional beach). To our credit, there was NO sign.
 Gelato. Hawaii style.
Molokini snorkeling trip. Such clear water. Beautiful fish. Heard the whales talking to each other under the water. Saw a reef shark. Turtle cleaning station.
Molokini. We snorkeled on the other side and on this side.
Our last night we went to Lahaina. Such a neat little town! We had dinner at Fleetwood's. Delish!

Thank you mom and dad for an amazing trip!
Thank you Craig and Molly for taking care of my boy!
