1 YeAr DoWn...MaNy MoRe To CoMe

I can't believe Nic and I have been married for one year already! Time sure has flown. Our anniversary fell on Sunday, Dec. 27. We went to Ashland and made a weekend out of it. We first landed in Medford to visit with Nic's family for a few hours and then we headed to Ashland and checked in to The Plaza Inn & Suites.
Walking in downtown Ashland before our dinner reservations.
I'm glad they still had lights up...
More lights!
Dinner time at...
Liquid Assets. As soon as we walked in, the smell of wine was overwhelming. This should be interesting...
I couldn't understand one thing on this menu. They didn't even have Diet Coke! We got to choose one appetizer and two entrees..
Our appetizer: The Taste of Spain. It was interesting...We didn't eat much of it...
We each got the Coq au Vin - aka some wine chicken thing. Also an experience...To say the least Liquid Assets was an experience. After dinner we were still hungry, so we headed to the Chateaulin for dessert (French restaurant): Creme Brule and hot chocolate. We then headed back to the hotel to hang around...
Good morning! You can kind of see our hotel behind us.
The sign. Time to head to...
The Blue Giraffe Spa for our couples massage and bath.
At this spa we got to wear robes and neckwarmers. Yummy. We got our full body massages which were amazing. Then we got to relax in a hot bath. So relaxing. I was so ready for a nap after this, but instead we headed back to Medford and had lunch at the Olive Garden. Even though it was Sunday, we coninued our anniversary. After our delicious lunch we headed home. What a wonderful anniversary weekend. Nic, I can't believe we have been married for one year. It's been a wonderful adventure. I can't wait to share in the many more years to come. I love you more and more every day.

PS Don't forget to look back for our 1 year anniversary post
Zero days left...MERRY CHRISTMAS! This year was Nic and I's first Christmas as a married couple. Christmas Eve started with Nic's Christmas work party. Then we headed to a matine movie: Did You Hear About the Morgans? We headed home to start making Eve dinner. The table is set for a yummy Christmas Eve dinner: steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, garlic bread, and sparkling cider.
So pretty
First Christmas together. We then headed to go light looking...
Classy Christmas
Not so classy. I think Christmas threw up in their yard...not in a good way.
Sail boat...not on the lake though. It was in someone's backyard...only in Klamath.
This person lights their sailboat every year and I absolutely love it. This one was on the lake. We headed home for some dessert. Funny story: my crock pot was in the fridge + pie on the shelf below = smooshed pie but still delicious. We still ate it and then read the Nativity.
Good Morning! Santa Claus always visits those who believe.
Not the greatest pic of us but we were excited about our stockings...Nic really was.
Nic sporting his new Hurley hat...HOTT.
Me showing off my new Cuddlebug die cuts.
I think Nic was in the process of opening a present... We had a great first Christmas together and hope you enjoyed yours!

PS Look for other posts about Chirstmas and our 1 year anniversary...
Nic celebrated his 28th birthday on Dec. 22. I made him breakfast that morning before he headed to work and even decorated his car. I made 2 peanut butter pies to take to his office - so delicious and rich. After work, we headed up to my parents house for birthday dinner...
Fun table for his yummy birthday dinner: lasagna, green beans, garlic bread.
Nic was special that day
Opening presents (cologne, $$$, birthday bag, wallet and slippers)
Blowing out candles on his Brazil Lime Cake
I think he's enjoying his cake...
Happy 28th Birthday love. Hope you had a great one!

ChRiStMaS cAmE eArLy

ChRiStMaS came a few days early for me and Nic. We headed up to my parent's house on Sunday, Dec. 20 to open their gifts. We had a delicious dinner: swiss cheese chicken. My mom of course decorated the table beautiful:
Here are my wonderful parents
Me and my wonderful hubby
First present of the early ChRiStMaS: a self healing matt with rotary cutter
One of Nic's ChRiStMaS presents: water purifier
Now I'm a true owl - sweatshirt and sweatpants
Loving the new jacket that came with a sweater, brown belt and boots
Pull Nic! Pull! Trying to get his new sleeping bag out...
Loving the new Nikes
Nic also got a new pair of brown dress shoes and a million candle flashlight. I also got a black purse, Children's hymnbook and Dayrunner. We had a great early ChRiStMaS with my parents. Thank you so much mom and dad for all of the gifts. We are loving them!

Finally

After so many weeks of having my Fall wreath hanging on my "front" door, I finally took it down because I made my Christmas wreath! I got out the stuff to make my Christmas wreath and wasn't feeling it. So I took it out again yesterday and (drum roll please)... It's done! I love the way it turned out. I was going to put ribbon on it, but there was no room with the pinecones and ornaments and everything else! Finally now my door is festive!

gobble gobble

I thought that it was finally time to post about Turkey Day. Nic and I had a great time with the Stewart side of the family, but we did miss spending it with the Phair side of the family. We had a great time: playing the Wii, crafting (I guess that was just me), playing pool (that was more him), eating, family fun, and more eating.
My brother and his wife did some family pictures and this was our best...ok not really. You can see a good one in our header.
Here is the beautiful table all set for Thanksgiving dinner.
Me and my love on Turkey Day - dinner was delish...as always.
A tradition in my family is to up into the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. None of this tree lot business. No. We have done this ever since I was little. I love it every time. Fire. Roast hot dogs and mallows. What more do you need? Since this year is Nic and I's first Christmas together as a married couple, we thought we needed to cut down our own tree.
About to go on the hunt on my parent's 4-wheeler
What up G? I'm sporting Nic's hat and I thought I looked pretty gangsta-like.
My parent's beautiful tree
Up in the mountains
Our first tree :)
It's all decorated now so I will have to post pics later of our LED decorated tree. Sorry I was so late posting! I have time now that I'm out of school for break.

She Wolfs

As most of you know, Friday and Saturday were our first dance team performances. They went really well...I had to sing the national anthem both days (also went well). For our team, my friend Tiffany and I made "shoes" for each of the girls.........
We put the girl's name and then a quote about dance. They turned out really cute and the girls really appreciated them. Mine is hanging on my fridge. :)
This is me and Tiffany before we headed over to Hayley's house to get ready. She and I have become really good friends. :)
Me, Marie, Savannah, and Hayley (now you all know what my dance team captain looks like) - getting ready. These are the t-shirts that we wore: Save the Hooters. It's to support mammography.
After Tiffany and I beautified ourselves - I did her hair and got her hooked on the 3-barrel (what I did to our hair).
Posing for the camera dressed, hair and make-up done: me, Maria, Kasia, and Hayley.
Chloe. Hayley's miniature Dachsund. I love her. I want one. So stinking cute.
The finished product....
The performing team before we dance. Top row: Mackenzie, Savannah, Nicole, Jessica, and me. Bottom row: Kasia, Hayley, Marie, and Tiffany.
While OIT was warming up before the game, we were just out there giving the audience a little preview. Ok not really, we just kept beat to the music. Step together and what not. Nothing too special... The performances went well both nights. Lucky for me, all of my sisters and Nic came and watched on Saturday. My parents came on Friday night and then my mom came again on Saturday. Thank you again for coming! It was so much fun to perform. We got a lot of student and crowd support - I think they really liked it. The dance team kind of has a stigma attached to it thanks to last year, but we are changing it this year. :) I will try and get the video posted so you can see our dance.......
