Great Reads

I just finished this book: Looking at the cover, you can guess it has to do with this guy (Aron), climbing/canyoneering, and his right arm. Such an unbelievable, crazy, cool story of survival. It amazed me what Aron endured and did to continue life. I don't want to give away any details, so I highly recommend it...start reading. My next read is about this: The Donner Pass. Confession: I didn't even know what the Donner Pass was or the significance of it until my mom was reading a book about the Donner party who traveled from Missouri to California. Just the thought about what these people had to endure make me cringe. The thought of Truckee Lake even makes me cringe just from what my mom has told me. The Donner Party weren't LDS pioneers; they were people who wanted a better life for themselves. It's amazing the sacrifices people are willing to make so they can have a better life. Both of these books have to do with survival and the sacrifice one is willing to make to survive. Even from yesterday's Gospel Doctrine lesson on the pioneers amazes me. I can't imagine doing what any of these people did - Aron, the Donner Party, LDS pioneers - it puts life into perspective.
