Turkey dinner = SUCCESS!

Nic and I's turkey dinner was a complete success, despite our doubts. Things to NOT forget when cooking turkey: DO NOT FORGET TO THAW YOUR TURKEY! Nic and I remembered Saturday morning that we had forgotten to take our turkey out the night before to begin the thawing process. So he did a little soaking in a nice hot sink bath. Dumb dumbs we are. We were a little skeptical about how long he would take to cook...it only ended up taking about 3-4 hours (like the cook book said it would)! Amazing. The little guy was thawed out apparently. To go along with the delicious turkey, we had green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls and salad. Oh yes - what would a turkey dinner be without the infamous grape juice and 7up drink! Tastey! Nic made magic cookie bars for dessert - so easy and so delicious! After dinner, we were all too full for dessert, so we began watching The Secret Life of Bees (fantastic movie PS). About part way through, we busted out the dessert. Full bellies! I felt bad for my mom because her legs started acting up...All in all it was a great night! Thank you mom and dad for coming and bringing the salad! Thank you mom for teaching me how to make gravy! Thank you Nic for doing a lot of the cooking (I was busy)! Who knew?! Nic and I would survive if we ever have to make our own Thanksgiving dinner!
Cheers!
Love the rents!
Sorry to Nic because notice how I did not get a picture of the two of us...sad day!

So fun! Smart to tackle the turkey on a non-holiday. Now you'll be a pro!
