"ThIs Is HoW wE dO iT"

Nic and I headed to the Crater High School class of 2000 10 year reunion (June 26). We were able to get all "dolled" up and head to the Rogue Regency Inn to eat and mingle. It was a lot of fun! Got to meet some really nice people Nic went to high school with - even got to see some not so good karaoke. haha The story that I kept hearing all night was, "Every time I hear Montell Jordan's 'This Is How We Do It,' I think of Nic." I had to hear the story behind it...for a talent show, Nic put together a live band and sang that song. Rapping and everything. On the way home, I got a private show. (Go here for a reminder of the song and video) He remembered all of the words even! That's my rapper! We totally forgot our camera, but Michelle (SIL) was nice enough to snag a few pix of us.

ClAsS oF 2010

I did it. I graduated from college. I can't even believe that I'm finished. 4 1/2 years. Here's a re-cap of commencement: Saturday, June 12, 2010.
Technically, it started on Thursday. My brother and SIL, Sam and Nikki surprised me and showed up at my house with my mom! What a lovely surprise. :) My other brother, Ben and Sharon came into town as well. My grandparents from AZ flew into town. I had lots of family from Nic's side of the family come as well. Nic and I went to a BBQ for all of the graduates on Thursday as well. We also got hats from the Paper Owl - mine is a beanie and his is a baseball hat.
Saturday. I woke up probably around 4 or 5 a.m. because I had this HORRIBLE dream about commencement, and then I couldn't fall back asleep. haha I think it was a mixture of nerves/excitement. Because I graduated in Applied Psychology, I'm right at the beginning of the line for processional. There was a lone bagpiper that led us - so cool.
Coming in
Sitting in my chair waiting for everyone else to march in
The commencement speaker was Greg Walden and I really enjoyed his speech (short and sweet) - surprisingly funny too. Here I am receiving my diploma from the president, Chris Maples (he gave me a hug). I will post a video that Nic took of me receiving it.
Family in the audience - they cheered loud for me :)
Brothers Sam and Ben and my dad
My diploma!
After commencement ended (only took 2 hours), we headed to take some pictures. Here is the graduate. hehe
Me and Nic - yay
My amazing parents - love them :)
My grandparents from AZ
It seems like a dream. I can't believe that that part of my life is OVER. I hope to go to graduate school, but not now. The support and love from my parents, Nic and my in-laws is a blessing. My parents are wonderful. They have been by my side every step of the way and got me to this point. :)
Keep scrolling down to find out what happened after Commencement.....

GrAdUaTiOn PaRtY

A graduation party at our house followed after Commencement. HUGE thank you to my mom who put it on for me - yummy food, family and friends. It was everything I was hoping for. Here are some of the decorations...
This is the banner I made - I was trying for the 3-tiered look, but it didn't work out. Still looked cute tho
Ahh! I did it!
I made this wreath awhile ago, but I added a "centerpiece" to it. It says "GRAD" with a cute sticker (cap 2010)
I really need to take another picture, because this does not do justice for the beautiful grad present Nic gave me: white gold diamond earrings. They are so pretty! He has such great taste when it comes to jewelry...actually everything. He's an amazing husband - he's been so supportive in everything I do since we got married. He always wanted me to finish college. Love him. :) Some guests: Sharon, baby Hudson, Sam and baby Jay (grandma Phair in the background) Mingling. This is my grad outfit: uber cute Vera Wang necklace, black stud earrings, black lace cami, sweater (mustard yellow/light touch of green), black skinnies, black patent leather sandals with a wedge heal. It was the perfect grad outfit. My mom, me, Sam, SIL Nikki
Brother Ben relaxing in the sunny weather
Tabatha (we have been friends forever) and Frank
Diana and her daughter Dakota - I work with Diana at OIT
Niece Meagan, grandma Phair and SIL Michelle
BIL Craig and SIL Molly
SIL Cherise and BIL Lyle (I had him as a teacher when I was a freshman in HS haha)
MIL Rita, SIL Lisa and nephew Pete
Nephews Jacob and Jackson, BIL Joel
Niece Rayah and me
Niece Christa
My love and me :)
Brother Sam and my dad, Paul
SIL Nikki and baby Jay
My mom, Suzanne, grandma and grandpa Jensen
Thank you again to my mom for an amazing party. It was perfect. Thank you to my mom and dad. I wouldn't have graduated if it weren't for my amazing parents. I love them so much and am so grateful for all that they have done and continue to do for me. :) Thank you to all of my family who came. It was so fun to celebrate this occasion with those I love (missed all of my family that couldn't be there). Thank you to my brown eyes. Amazing man. Enough said. I love you Nic.

PlAnT & pUlL

A couple of weekends ago, Nic and I finally got our garden planted:
  • Peppers (3 kinds)
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Brussel Sprouts (for me :)
  • JalapeƱos
  • Cilantro
  • Corn
  • Radishes
  • Carrots
  • Tomatoes
  • Lettuce (3 kinds)
  • Onions
  • Spinach
  • Beans
  • Cucumbers
  • Peas
  • Chives
I think that's it...This is the amazing planter box Nic built - love it. My parents told us about it - they saw it out at Diamond.
Pots on our deck...
While Nic was busy gardening, I was pulling weeds out from under our deck. There were so many! Nic asked me to help him, but I finished before he had a chance to help. It was satisfying to see the end product...
We filled up 2 of the huge recycling bins (garbage-sized ones) - glad I don't have to see those anymore
We also planted more stuff along the side of our house...
Now pray and hope everything grows!

Tonight is opening night of "Let Us Entertain You" / "Giselle." I'm so excited/nervous - I'm not even dancing and I'm nervous. haha This week has been spent in 4-5 hour rehearsals. I'm technically the "stage manager" - I bus kids to and from the stage and help out backstage. I'm so excited for tonight! It's been a crazy/busy/tiring week - it all pays off tonight and tomorrow. If you're in Klamath, come to Mills tomorrow night or tomorrow night for a wonderful dance recital. :) You can watch my 4 classes perform - yay. Good luck all you dancers! And then....
Saturday brings.............GRADUATION!

MoUsE sToRy

The mouse story.
I was waiting in my parent's room for Nic so we could start watching a movie. I hear Nic yelling for me to come quick (he was in the laundry room). Of course, I think he's hurt so I go running. He's not. Nic wants me to grab a pitcher or something because there's a mouse - I tell him there's one in the laundry room and I dare not go in there because I'm freaked out. Ew. Such a girl. He said the mouse had run out from under the washer and went back under. I'm standing in the doorway to the laundry room and Nic is standing at the washer, pitcher in hand trying the get the mouse to come out. No more then 3 minutes later, I look down at my feet and the little mouse runs right by my feet. Ahh! Of course I scream...
The mouse is now out of the laundry room and in the dining room. We have to make sure this mouse does NOT go anywhere else or else he is roaming free on the main floor of my parents house. We're stomping our feet to keep it from running elsewhere. The mouse comes to a point where Nic creeps up on him and puts the pitcher over him. Miss, but gets his tail. Nic once again tries to trap the mouse, but the mouse was faster.
We're stomping our feet to make sure he doesn't elsewhere again and we get him to a corner. Nic creeps up on him and bam! Pitcher on the mouse. He's trapped and jumping trying to get out. Too bad. Nic grabs some large envelope that was on the counter and we set him free outside. Where does the mouse go? To the side of the house to see if he can get in.
Once we're inside, we can see that there's a lovely circle of blood on the envelope. Oops. That means there's blood on the floor and of course in the pitcher. The envelope is addressed to "President Paul Stewart." Sorry dad. We looked on the floor and there is a circle of blood on the floor where we caught the mouse - no where else...we think. We were crouching on the floor, inspecting. Thanks to catching the mouse's tail the first time, that's where the blood came from. Apparently, mouse blood is thick. Nasty.

WhAt DiD yOu Do?

What did you do over Memorial Day weekend? Here are a few things we did:
First off, we house sat for my parents all weekend. Saturday was spent doing a little of this...
We are planting a garden - the styrofoam is for the bottom of the planters. Nic is building a big planter box (I'll post pics later of the box and the plants). Saturday night...
We watched "The Princess and the Frog" because Nic had never seen it
We also found a little friend in the dining room...
We went for a ride.
On Memorial Day, there was a little parade on Main Street. I only knew about this parade because of my primary kids.
We met up with a few families...
Here are some of the happenings for the parade. The horses.
War vehicles.
The coffin kind of creeped me out, I'm not going to lie.
We met up with some family for a birthday bbq - yummy food and good company. It was a great weekend and I hope you all had a great weekend too!
